Perhaps you're correct, but the crux of this essay was to explore whether one can create his own values, not the meaning of 'God is dead.' In fact, the belief in God as an entity that would bestow upon you the meaning of life is what I was addressing. If that God died, then what is left? Who will give his life meaning? One has to discover what he deems important to fill that void. Atheists' values are a different matter entirely.
